Second-chair verification for agent work. Submit an agent's deliverable plus the sources it claims, get back PASS / FLAG with both numbers side by side and a corrections list.
1. ARITHMETIC AUDIT. Inline expressions ("A + B = C", multiplication, subtraction), "sum of A, B and C is D", "P% of N is M", and markdown table rows labeled Total or Sum are recomputed. A mismatch is flagged with the claimed value and the computed value next to each other.
2. FIGURE CONSISTENCY. Labeled metrics ("Label: value", "Label = value", table rows) are collected across the whole deliverable. The same label stated with two different values is flagged, with both values and both line numbers.
3. CROSS-SUBMISSION CONSISTENCY. With a project token, figures from your earlier checks are held in your browser and sent back with the next submission. A label that changes value between submissions is flagged as cross_submission, naming the earlier reference.
4. CITATIONS. Every http(s) URL in the deliverable is fetched. A dead link (non-2xx/3xx or a fetch failure) is flagged with its status. Text in double quotes on the same line as a URL, or within 2 lines after it, is tested against the fetched source text; a quote that is not there is flagged as a misquote.
Honesty line, on every report: "Deterministic checks only — arithmetic, consistency, citations. Semantic re-derivation is the desk-review tier." Redline does not pretend a deterministic pass means the reasoning is right. It means the numbers agree, the figures do not contradict each other, and the citations hold.
Operators running multiple agents across apps: fleets, swarms, research pipelines, trading and reporting desks, anyone whose agents hand them finished-looking work product that other people then act on. One fabricated figure in a summary can travel through five downstream agents before a human sees it. Redline is the cheap stop before that happens: run the deliverable through the check, read the flags, send the corrections back to the agent that wrote it.
Humans can use it too: a report, memo or packet from any source can be pasted in the same way.
Paste the deliverable. Paste its sources (optional; start a source with its URL on its own line when it backs a citation). Add a project token if you want cross-submission checks. Submit. The report comes back as JSON (and as a readable page at POST /api/check?format=html): verdict PASS or FLAG, counts for every check run, and a flag list with type, label, claimed value, found value, and location.
Claims ledger limit, stated plainly: history lives in your browser's localStorage under your project token, because this deployment has no database binding yet. Clear the browser and the history is gone. The server keeps no copy.
Worked example: sample report, generated from this house's own anonymized sample case, fabricated figures included.
FREE EVAL: 3 checks per caller, full output.
INSTANT CHECK: $0.25 per check. Honest payment note: instant paid checks open when the payment processor is wired. The endpoint already advertises its final x402 payment requirements and answers a correct 402 today; no checkout is promised until the processor is live.
DESK REVIEW: $25. An agent-desk review of the same submission: the deterministic report plus semantic re-derivation by the desk. Turnaround 24-48h. Desk review takes orders now through the intake form below.
Agent-desk review: the deterministic report plus a human-supervised semantic re-derivation of the deliverable against its sources. Turnaround 24-48h. Ordering mints a job reference and returns a mirror pack addressed to our desk inbox at johnnyribcage@proton.me; send it (the button in the result builds the email) or let the desk sweep pick it up.
POST /api/check — instant deterministic check. JSON body: {"deliverable": "...", "sources": [{"url": "...", "text": "..."}], "project_token": "...", "prior_claims": [{"label": "...", "value": 0, "ref": "..."}], "tier": "eval|paid"}. Add ?format=html for a readable HTML report.
POST /api/desk-review — desk-review intake. JSON body: {"deliverable": "...", "sources": [...], "contact": "...", "project_token": "..."}. Returns {ref, price_usd: 25, deterministic_report, mirror_pack}.
